Killerton
Over 100,000 trees took root at National Trust’s Killerton Estate, as second phase of Plymouth and South Devon Community Forest Project gets underway.
150 hectares of new woodland will be created, the size of 212 football pitches. 37,000 new trees were planted over the 24/25 winter with help from local schools, volunteers and farmers.
As part of the new forest, over 12km of new and enhanced permissive paths will link local communities to the estate. These trees will improve biodiversity, climate resilience and water quality.
